Mahoraba~Heartful Days~ Review

Mahoraba~Heartful Days~ is about an art student named Shiratori Ryuushi who lives an apartment complex called NarutakiSou run by a high school student named Aobo Kozue. She's no ordinary high school as she has multiple personalities which triggered when she receives a shock to her. The neighbors of NarutakiSou consisted of Kozue's childhood friend who loves Kozue so much Tamami Chanohata, a college student who drinks too much Megumi Momono, a single mother who's lazy and a bit odd Sayoko Kurosaki along with her more resonsible daughter Asumi, and a novelist who uses a dog puppet named Johnny to talk to people Yukio Haibara.

The series is a light-hearted romantic comedy. It has a great balance of comedy and seriousness throughtout the series. The characters are mostly well-developed for the most part except for Haibara. The animation perfectly fits the series along with the mood. My biggest problem is that the relationship between Kozue and Shiratori wasn't develop enough. I felt that the supporting characters was more important than the relationship at times. Also, the multiple personalities weren't used enough during the series. It could have more potential as a plot device but at least, it wasn't overused. If you're looking for a series that's romantic but don't want melodrama, I suggest this series as a must-watch. I'll give it a 4 out of 5.
