Canvas Two 24 and Review

The final episode of Canvas Two has Hiroki realizing his true feelings and chooses either Elis or Kiri to be the one for him. Since everybody knows how the ending came to be, I guess should mention who he chose at the end which was Elis. If you read my thoughts about Elis, you would know that I always hated her for being a spoiled brat. Hiroki's change from picking Kiri to Elis was rather sudden and didn't seem natural. I think Elis would have been happy even if Hiroki didn't choose her at the end compared to Kiri who always wanted to be with him. Kiri's statement to Shie about being a childhood friend once again was rather sad which she knew at that point that Hiroki has chosen Elis and the childhood friend rarely wins the affection of the person who they loved. I feel sorry for Kiri for not being able to be with Hiroki at the end. Hiroki's choosing of either Kiri or Elis also determined his career path which was either being a teacher or an artist. By choosing Elis, he managed to find his reason to draw again from Elis's last painting had red in it. I'm disappointed that he didn't choose Kiri at the end but it was still a good ending though.

The other characters in Canvas Two had their moments with Hagino and her novels giving both Elis and Hiroki disguised advice. Tomoko really helped Elis moving forward in her art work while Sumire realized that Elis and Hiroki were lying to themselves about their true feelings. Most of the characters got an episode for some development except for Takeuchi which she randomly helped out the main characters but didn't have an episode to herself. The animation was pretty good for the most part and the music was good as well.

Overall, Canvas Two isn't your typical harem series with one guy has to choose multiple girls instead he has to pick between only two. The other characters are mostly there for supporting the three main characters which they did a good job and still have an unique personality to them. It was a nice story but I wished he chose Kiri in the end as I liked her better than Elis. I give Canvas Two a 4 out of 5.

    Hiroki prefer younger girl LOL

This ending remind me of a novel that I recently read. At 1st, he go for his childhood friend but in the end he choose another girl who he hardly know very well (except for her name)

Either Elis or Kiri, I think both are fine. Sigh~ a bittersweet ending.

Finally I know what you guys mean...That is sooo sick and wrong!
    It's wrong-sick!
I cant believe that guy! Picking his own cousin which he treats as a sister! THAT SICK YARU!!!

That cousin of his is the one who was able to make him move forward towards his dream to become an artist, not his childhood friend. So it's reasonable for him to choose Elis.

And cousin getting together in Japan (& majority parts of the world) isn't consider as incest as it is in U.S & FEW other parts of the world. So keep your 'wrong-sick' moral to yourself. You are in no position to judge how other culture should live their lives.
